Cycle1 Day 2

On checking back to the board to see if there were any replies I was disappointed to suddenly realise that the board is nowhere near as busy as I had thought. ding! I had fallen into the asynchronous multiple timeline trap. When reading up on the converations for the first time, as (history) they sound brisk and lively, but when experiencing them as they develop in realtime, it can feel like there's nobody around. Very slow, or even dead. Like a ghost house, or a party after everyone has left. I kind of knew of this phenomenon before, but had still somehow allowed myself to be fooled by the illusion.

So it's important to lurk for a few days to get a 'feel' for the tempo of a group.

Through doing conscious research I can now note this down as a useful finding and contemplate the implications. In fact this might make a useful start to a Wiki page about asynchronous groups.
